A Year With the Trees project.

Cercis canadensis,  Red Bud, Fruit
I have decided to start a new project this year.  A tree project I have been inspired to accomplish.
I am inspired to share why it is imperative that we plant and nurture Native trees and plants to grow and live in our yards, parks and walkways.  This project will take a while, perhaps years.
This blog is one part of my project.  This is the part of the project where I draw attention to what trees are native to the area I am living in, the Southern Appalachian.  I call this blog,  A Year With the Trees and it is a photo/drawing collection project to be an inspiration to inspire others to plant, grow and nurture native trees and plants in their yards, cities, parks, and walkways.

This project is a collection of photos and drawings of  92 Native Southern Appalachian trees. The collection is composed of four parts.

One part of the collection, I call Spring.  It will focus on spring leaf growth and spring tree flowers.

One part of the collection, I call Summer.  It will focus on summer leaves and flowers and summer fruit.

One part of the collection, I call Fall.  It will focus on fall leaf color and fall fruit.

One part of the collection, I call Winter.  It will focus on bark, dried fruit, twigs and buds.

Every tree, all 92, will be present.  I hope one day to complete a collage of each collection. I imagine these collections will inspire people to take more notice of nature, to learn something new everyday, and to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us all and to grow and nurture native trees and plants in the places they live, work, learn, and play.  Inspiration, learning, and appreciation of nature, three traits that can always make life a bit sweeter.

If you are feeling creative, and would like to help me with this project; please send me a message and some images.  I will love hearing from you.

You can contact me at:  Celerylady@gmail.com.  Or, you can send me a message here at A Year With the Trees.  Thank you for reading this and I hope to hear from you soon!
