April 21 - The American Mountain Ash - Sorbus americana

The Mountain Ash tree usually lives up at the higher elevations in the Southern Appalachian mountains. This tree lives near Mt. Pisgah on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I took these photos on March 23rd, when the buds had not opened yet. I will go back soon and see the new leafs emerging.
