Crape Myrtle
This is a small tree with many small trunks that have beautiful smooth bark. It has small, oval opposite leaves that come out later in the spring than most trees. This tree has showy flowers in the summer and a beautiful fall color. This tree is native to the tropics; yet grows beautifully in North Carolina.
